Hire Local Electrician is an electrical service for homes and businesses in all 50 states. You call, tell us what's going on, and we get a licensed electrician who works your ZIP code out to you, for anything from a dead outlet or a tripping breaker to a panel upgrade, an EV charger or an electrical emergency.

We stay with you from the first call until the job is done: we ask the right questions, set the time, and make sure the electrician arrives knowing what you told us.

Where do we work?

Who comes out to do the work?

A licensed, insured electrician who works your area. On the first visit the electrician finds the cause, and you'll know the price before the repair starts. You only pay for work you agreed to.

For bigger jobs such as a rewire or a standby generator, a permit and inspection are usually needed, so ask about them on that first visit.

Why does this site have guides?

Most people call about a symptom, so the electrical guides start there: what tends to go wrong, what a proper repair involves, and what drives the cost. You won't find price tags on the pages, because the cost of electrical work depends on the house, the panel and the permit rules where you live.

Where something is a safety matter, we say so directly. Where something is usually fine to leave until morning, we say that too.
